Howdy, howdy. RA here for your weekly (enhhh) dose of random madness (definitely) and book recommendation (oh yeah).
First off, I just started in a new lab the other week, and IT IS THE MOST AMAZING THING SINCE BOWIE DISCOVERED EYESHADOW. I’m serious here. There may have been a lens flare and dancing muppets. Possibly followed by a shower of rose petals.
Actually, in our lab, it’s more like a liquid nitrogen rainbow over the dancing P. falciparum and Red Hat plushies, but I digress.
As you can tell, I’m kinda stupidly happy right now. This is helped by having just read one fantastic kids’ book (The Boneshaker by Kate Milford) and settling down to begin Little Brother by Cory Doctorow as the snowstorm hits. If you have not read this book, you’re missing out. It’s smart, fun, and critical of a lot that we shy away from thinking about. It’s also about a bunch of high school kids taking down, well, big brother using little more than x-boxes and cells. Sweet, right? Right.
Anyway, I got work tomorrow, so I’ll let you be on your way, too.
tutaonana wiki ijayo. (yeah, that looks way goofier in print. Maybe I’ll stick with Zyaa mata.)
